1919
- First pepper mill "The First Horgos Vas Sandor Mill"
was founded. It had only 4 stone wheels droved by weak steam engine.
1929 - Two seasoning pepper producers from
Horgos, "The
First Horgos Vas Sandor Mill" and "Denes
Bros. Seasoning Pepper Mill" took part on World
Exhibition in Barcelona.
1947 - "Seasoning Pepper Processing
and Grounding Industry of Horgos" is found. Building of the
seasoning pepper processing plant begins.
1956 - Workers council of the industry decides
of changing the name into VITAMIN.
1964 - The production of the sweet and hot
oleoresin begins.
1966 - As a result of years-long work in
selection, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in Belgrade
recognizes new sort of industrial seasoning pepper called "Horgos
Sweet - 1"
(HS-1). This was the first recognized sort of seasoning pepper in
Yugoslavia.
1970 - Several kinds of classical teas are
being produced and packed for the first time.
1971 - New sort of seasoning pepper "Separating
Sweet - 1" (OS-1) was recognized. It was the first domestic
sort with stable property of easy separation of the stalk from the
fruit of the pepper, thus making it suitable for mechanized harvest.
1972 - New sort of seasoning pepper, "Hosrgos
Sweet - 2" (HS-2)was recognized.
1973 - Another new sort of seasoning pepper,
"Horgos Sweet -3" (HSX-3) was recognized. It is highly
suitable for mechanized harvest, as well as resistant to virus diseases.
1980 - New and modern "Proctor"
drying plant was introduced.
1985 - First sorts of hot seasoning pepper,
"Sand Thunder" (PG) and "Tisa" were recognized.
1990 - New Rotating
fluid granulator was introduced enabling the production of wide
range of granulated products, from seasoning pepper and onion to
instant drinks.
